DuPont’s Web Hostings

Network service provider Sidera Networks is extending its premium fiber optic network to service the DuPont Fabros Technology web hostings data center located in New Jersey. This will give tenants at Dupont's NJ1 data center access to carrier hotels and financial exchanges through Sidera's network.
NJ1 is now a network node on the Sidera network, which provides unique routes and low latency for excellent service to their new and existing customers. New customers who are looking for the highest quality network solutions will not be disappointed with the new web hosting speeds and service. The NJ1 data center is a highly specialized facility that raises the bar in terms of performance for all competing data centers in the region. Web Hostings Attack

The CEO of Netregistry said that he suspects insider involvement in a recent web hostings attack known as the Distribute.IT Hack. The attack last month on the recently acquired Distribute.IT facility may have been an inside job, although responsibility was claimed by a hacker group called Evil. They took down some 4,800 domains and hosting accounts, knocking thousands of customers offline.
The hackers also wiped out much of the company's backup data, which has affected all aspects of the company's operations. Three weeks later, they were still struggling to restore the affected accounts , and have since transferred many accounts to a subsidiary in order to restore service to customers. Industry experts believe that the work had to be that of an individual familiar with the company's business and possibly with remote access.
Web Hostings Upgrades

Digital Realty Trust web hostings service is in the process of making major upgrades to its Quannapowitt Parkway data center in the Boston area. These upgrades required a large financial investment on the part of Digital Reality Trust to convert the center into a cutting-edge facility that is up to the latest technical standards. The company has equipped an anchor facility for security purposes to house its mission critical systems. This is just one of several buildings in the large data center complex.
The renovation includes construction of six Datacenter PODs which each feature 6,000 square feet of space to house a total 1 MW of IT load. Other enhancements include new electrical infrastructure and HVAC systems to enable advanced support. Boston is known as one of the data center hubs in the US, with many data facilities clustered along the Route 128 corridor.
